"Agbara Dudu" - the term means "black power" in the Yoruba language. Yoruba was brought over by the slaves from Western Africa during the slave trade. Brazil was the major player in the slave trade receiving more African slaves than any other nation in the Americas and yet despite this and 500 of miscegenation Brazil has made little or no progress towards racial equality. Jamba Productions teamed up with the very renowned Sergio Loroza to produce this track that features a rich percussion take with a harmonically simplistic "pop" approach to a very socially complicated theme
This album was the effort of more than 2000 hours of hard work. Its a very brand new take on the genre of reggae combining it with organic elements of the acoustic and steel guitars and percussion with a pop approach that stretches the harmonic thresholds of what is typically "permissible." The fusion of earth, sand, beach and old school electronic elements makes this a very fresh approach, as a matter of fact we call it "nouveau reggae." Its not scared to drop the drums and bass in your face but it doesnt shy away from taking you in through tender moments... away in a fishing boat with the seagulls and the breeze in your body while you escape to the picturesque paradise of Cabo Frio and Rio De Janeiro. Produced, Mixed and Mastered by Jammes Nova. Distributed by Sony.
R&B, Techno and Soul tipify this album. Influnces from D'Angelo, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, and Justin Timberlake. Sultry Harmonies, thick Bgv's and with a subtle pop approach. This album required vocal development and retraining that Jamba Productions happily obliged. 200 hours alone of vocal work to complete the album.
